Alissa Volchkova is a Franco-Russian designer based in Paris.
Graduated with a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in London in 2016, following which she collaborated with different institutions such as museums and design galleries around the world.
The approach of her work is experimental, driven by the material, not by the final aesthetics of an object. Alissa Volchkova explores and revisits different processes of production in a poetic way, developing the potential of surrounding materials, pushing their limits – which changes our preconceived ideas about them, and challenges the perception we might have of them - resulting in various unpredictable objects.
