Caroline Venet is a French designer who graduated from ESAA Duperré and the design research department at ENS Cachan.
She creates light sculptures in leather from the Haas tannery in Alsace (France).
Her projects are initiated by an experimental approach to sustainable design, in which the relationship with texture and material is omnipresent. Caroline is inspired by the shapes and gestures of the body, working with leather as if she were choreographing it.
Her creative process is always based on tactile and sensory research. Focusing on soft textures and shapes that encourage the sense of touch, her work tends to come closer to the living.
Caroline Venet is inspired by the work of architects Jun'ya Ishigami and Anne Holtrop, and by the paintings of Pierre Soulages.
