Italian by birth, Silver Sentimenti grew up in a sewing workshop, where he has expressed himself
through drawing since childhood. He trained in ceramic sculpture at the Gaetano Ballardini Institute in
Faience, graduating in 1989. He continued his studies at the Bologna School of Fine Arts, graduating in
1994 with a diploma in Scenography. Set design led him to costumes and tailoring. Settling in France in
1997, he has worked in Paris for a number of Haute Couture houses and on film and opera costumes.
In 2014, wishing to rediscover a link with ceramics, Silver Sentimenti undertook a training course in throwing at ATC in Paris.
Perhaps what best characterises his work is the search for form through a multidisciplinary range of techniques. His inspirations are manifold, but the starting point is often the material. He appreciates the results that can be achieved through skill and the links between the material and the hand through the eye, as well as the beauty of the gesture.
