Clémence Mars is a young French artist, born in Paris in 1992. Initially drawn to design, she studied art and design at the Duperré school before turning to scenography at the National School of Decorative Arts.
A way for her to approach her creativity in all its forms.
But it's also the art of performance in these scenographic spaces that interests the artist, so from 2015 to 2017, she studied it at the Visual School of Theater in Jerusalem.
She applies her sense of scenography to various projects. In 2024, for example, she created a set for the Carel brand for their collection inspired by the conquest of space.
Indeed, her work has an experimental, science-fiction aesthetic that plays with the clichés of vintage technology. Through this aesthetic, her work mainly explores notions of territory and the desire to conquer new lands, questioning this fantasy that crosses eras and societies.
The diversity in her education and her natural curiosity enable Clémence Mars to create complete works in which space becomes a playground, an ensemble that individually compliments her creations. Her works seem to emerge directly from their setting, encouraging the viewer to observe her work as a whole.
